PC Humane Society Closing

The Pickens County Humane Society is closing after they could not raise enough money to stay open. According to a press release, the Pickens County Humane Society said they had continued to operate in the red and were financially ruined with a loss of funding. They say they depleted their endowments and can’t survive after the county reallocated funds to balance their budget. The Humane Society stopped receiving county funds on July 1. They currently have 56 animals that need homes before they close on Dec. 31.
