Pedestrian killed in Easley identified

The Pickens County Coroner’s Office has identified the pedestrian killed after being hit by cars while walking along S.C. 135 in Liberty. The incident happened just after 1:30am Wednesday.  Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley identified the man as 30-year-old Vance Marion Bailey of Easley.  The Highway Patrol stated that Bailey had wrecked his car and was in the process of walking in the roadway when three vehicles struck him.  He died at the scene from blunt-force trauma. Authorities believe the weather played a factor in the tragic accident as rain caused poor visibility on the highway. No drivers were injured and all three are cooperating with investigators.  The South Carolina Highway Patrol’s accident reconstruction team is still working the case.
