Pickens County Council Meeting Tonight

The Pickens County Council will meet this evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Pickens County Administration Facility, 222 McDaniel Avenue, to address a hefty agenda, including voting on implementing results from a compensation and wage study conducted by Evergreen Solutions. This includes salary increases for 638 employees, averaging $4,900 each, with a model based on tenure. The council will also consider ordinances on fiscal year budgets, a fee-in-lieu of tax agreement for Project Hydro, and a joint industrial park with Oconee County. The meeting will begin with a public forum, limited to 30 minutes, and include discussions on an inducement resolution for Project Hydro, a tax agreement amendment with Pacesetter Inc., and a resolution recognizing June 2024 as “Joy of Fatherhood Month.” The session will conclude with executive discussions on employee reviews and a WORKLINK board appointment.
