Pickens County Recreational Vehicle Fatality

On September 12, 2025, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the Pickens County Coroner’s Office responded to the 1000 block of Jones Mills Road in Six Mile, South Carolina, for a recreational vehicle accident. The vehicle left the roadway and went down a ravine, ejecting the driver into an earthen embankment.

The driver, identified as 71-year-old David Ricky Morris of Six Mile, was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Morris was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. This incident is under investigation by the Pickens County Coroner’s Office, the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol. No further details are available at this time.
