Pickens County Sheriff’s Office Continues Investigation Regarding Body Found In Saluda River

(Seneca, SC)—————-The Pickens County Coroner’s Office has identified and released the name of a man who was found floating in the Saluda River near Farrs Bridge Road over the Memorial Day weekend. 

The body was discovered by an area resident and was recovered from the water fully clothed. The man was determined to be deceased at the scene, according to a press release from the Pickens County Coroner’s Office. 

An autopsy was conducted yesterday and according to the Sheriff’s Office, the autopsy revealed no physical trauma to the body and no visual evidence of foul play. Requests for additional toxicology tests have been submitted and the Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation. 

The victim has been identified as 38 year old Steven Carroll Fletcher. 

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the victim’s vehicle was located along the Greenville County side of the river bank and the vehicle had been parked at the site where it was found at least three days prior to the discovery of the body.
