Plane Crashes into Lake Jocassee

Update from Oconee Emergency Services:

Oconee County Emergency Services (OCES)  responded to a small float-plane crash at Lake Jocassee in Oconee County. The float-plane crashed into Lake Jocassee with a pilot and passenger on board however both occupants were rescued without injury. No other injuries to anyone else on the lake have been reported at this time.

Just before 1:00 pm this afternoon, reports indicate that a float plane crashed into Lake Jocassee near Devil’s Fork State Park. Two people on board the plane were wearing life jackets when the plane went down and we’re rescued by a boater, officials said. They were unharmed in the crash.
