Poor Public Attendance at Transit Meeting in Seneca Thursday

The Seneca transit service held a midday hearing yesterday to discuss the estimated cost for a new year of free bus service in the city and surrounding areas. Despite the importance of this issue, no one showed up for the hearing from the riding public or the general public. Ed Halbig, Seneca’s representative for bus service, provided a breakdown of the estimated cost for the new year of service….

He said Seneca will contribute $218,000 in money or in-kind.

Halbig also attended a transit conference in Atlanta recently and spoke about the pride that Seneca has in its system. Due to a couple of factors, the Seneca transit system does not face the same challenges that other transit providers face…
