Potential Route Changes Could Be On The Way For Public Transportation In 2020, According To Seneca’s Mayor

(Seneca, SC)——–The city of Seneca Transit Service will hold two public hearings, one tonight and one tomorrow afternoon, to discuss public transportation and possible route additions and changes.

The public hearing tonight will take place at 7pm and the public hearing tomorrow will take place at 12 noon. Both public hearings will take place in council chambers at Seneca City Hall.

Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander was a guest on the Coffee Time program yesterday and he discussed the upcoming public hearings. The Mayor indicated that potential route changes could be on the way.

“To me, I am a strong advocate of transportation but I understand that sometimes we have to make adjustments,” says Mayor Alexander. “So, this year, the public transportation will actually hit more of the business areas going to Tri-County Tech on Highway 11 and the industries in that area.”

The Mayor said that he is grateful for the partnership with Oconee County and the $300,000 in matching money for a grant that County Council approved for the additional buses.
