Prizes being awarded for Thinking Oconee

Prizes are being given out this month by the Oconee Economic Alliance (OEA) for Thinking Oconee, explains Daja Dial, Marketing and Communications Manager for the OEA. “We’re doing Think Oconee Thursday this month and that is a campaign to celebrate our birthday. Think Oconee turned 1-year-old this year in November and so throughout this entire month we are going to giving away local prizes to local places around Oconee County to say thank you. So, how you do that is you post anywhere that you see the Think Oconee decal, take a picture of it and post it on Instagram or Facebook, use the hashtags #ThinkOconee and #ThinkOconeeThursday and on Friday morning right here on 94.1 The Lake they will announce the winner.” The weekly prize giveaway is meant to get people to shop locally, adds Dial. “Think Oconee is an incredible campaign and it is just about getting people to think local, buy local, shop local, and put your money back into the county that is going to give back to you. What we want to do through this campaign is again to get these people thinking when you are doing your Christmas shopping this holiday season come down to downtown Walhalla, downtown Seneca, or any of our other cities and towns around and put your money into these local owned businesses because boy what a special opportunity it is to really see the face that owns that business and know that it is impacting their lives as well. So, that is what we want to try to do through Think Oconee.” Learn more about Think Oconee Thursdays by visiting the Facebook and Instagram pages of the OEA or Destination Oconee.
