Property Crime Statistics part of 2018 Uniform Crime Report from South Carolina Law Enforcement Division

(Seneca, SC)————-The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division recently released its Uniform Crime Report for 2018, and overall throughout the state, the rates for overall violent crimes and property crimes fell last year.

However, the report states that murders reached a five year high in the state last year, with 393 victims of murder reported.

The report also saw an increase by 16% in the number of law enforcement officers assaulted.

The data in the report was compiled from statistics that came from the Sheriff’s Office’s and police departments across the state and the full report is available online at

According to the report, law enforcement agencies in Oconee County reported 2,270 incidents of property crime in 2018, while Pickens County law enforcement agencies reported 3,803 incidents of property crime last year. In Anderson County, law enforcement agencies in that county reported 8,008 incidents of property crime last year.

Property crimes consists of the offenses of breaking and entering, motor vehicle theft, larceny and arson.
