Protesters at Seneca City Hall

A crowd of over 100 people gathered Monday afternoon at Seneca City Hall to protest President Donald Trump, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and its leader, Elon Musk. Organized by the Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Concerned Citizen Alliance as part of a National Day of Protest that happened in cities all over the country, the demonstration focused on what protesters called unconstitutional executive actions and government dismantling. Participants voiced concerns over Musk’s power and influence, while some referenced a lack of public mandate for the administration’s policies. Jim Few said he is afraid of Social Security benefits being cut…

A few counter-protesters also attended, with one holding a sign reading “Idiots.” Despite differing viewpoints, both sides acknowledged each other’s right to peaceful assembly. By 2 p.m., the crowd had dispersed.
