Public’s Help sought in locating Burglary Suspect

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted for a burglary that occurred near Mountain Rest on August 21st.  Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt gives details.  “Arrest warrants have been issued against 54-year-old Robert Ford Carver of Anderson.  The warrants show Carvers address as 3508 Catawba Circle.  Carver has been charged with first degree burglary and petit larceny in the incident that occurred at 122 Beaver Lane.  According to incident reports, deputies responded to the Mountain Rest location after two individuals discovered that the front door and side window of the residence had been broken.  The suspect reportedly made entry through the front door and had taken a Troy Built Pressure Washer valued at around $550 and a Poulan Pro Leaf Blower valued at around $250.  Damage to the front door and side window were valued at around $800.  The victim stated that he went to call the Sheriff’s Office, but also went to Low Water Bridge Road to see if he could locate anyone, upon which the victim told deputies that he located at red Chevy S-10 pickup truck with a South Carolina tag number of JAF 772.  The victim also reported seeing a white male, around six feet tall with a cross tattoo on his lower forearm with the leaf blower and the pressure washer being in the bed of the pickup truck. The victim confronted the white male and told him that the items belonged to him, where the suspect gave the items back to the victim.  Deputies conducted an investigation of the scene, including the damage to the residence.” Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Robert Ford Carver is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 864-638-STOP or text in a tip to 274637.  You do not have to give your name and if you tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
