Public’s Help still sought solving School Burglary

It has been more than a month and the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office still seeks the public’s help in solving a burglary at Fair-Oak Elementary School. The Sheriff’s Office is also seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual in relation to the burglary as well, explains Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt. “Deputies responded to the school on Oakway Road during the early morning hours of June 13, 2017, in response to an alarm activation. As deputies checked the building and property, they discovered a window open on the building and that entry had been made into the school. The deputies began an investigation and began to gather evidence with the assistance of the Crime Scene Unit. The deputies also notified a school official and an investigator with the Criminal Investigations Division. While inside, deputies observed where several cabinets had been opened. At this time, according to investigators, it does not appear that any items were taken but there was some damage to property inside of the school. The Sheriff’s Office encourages citizens to visit www.oconeelaw.com to see pictures from the case and if they can identify the individual.” If you have any information on this burglary at Fair-Oak Elementary School on June 13, or the identity of the individual in relation to the burglary, you are asked to contact Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or 864-638-STOP.
