Rabun County, GA Sheriff Arrested on Multiple Charges
According to our sister station, SKY 96.3 in Clayton, GA, Rabun County Sheriff Chad Nichols, 45, has been arrested and charged with public indecency, sexual battery, and violation of oath by a public officer. The charges stem from an incident investigated by the GBI at the request of Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney George Christian. Nichols turned himself in on May 24, 2024, and was booked into the Rabun County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing, with the case file to be submitted to the District Attorney upon completion. The Rabun County Board of Commissioners is aware of the situation and will respond accordingly, with the GBI and Governor’s office also informed. According to records from the Rabun County, GA Detention Center, Nichols was released on $32,500 bond.
