Recent Storms Knocked Out Power, Damaged Sewer Lines and Left Some Boaters Stranded

Storms swept through the Upstate over the past few days, and here in Oconee County and Seneca, falling trees damaged power and sewer lines, which left some without electricity and effectively released as much as 50,000 gallons of wastewater into a tributary of Seneca Creek near the Meadowbrook subdivision. Power was restored to the area late Monday, and the damaged sewer lines were also repaired. Testing of the waters will continue until things return to normal, officials said.
