Rent Assistance Available to Qualified SC Residents

Emergency housing assistance is being provided by SC Thrive in cooperation with the state Housing Finance and Development Authority in the amount of $1,500 for rent in a one-time lump sum payment directly to property owners or management companies to Palmetto State residents who are facing financial hardships due to COVID-19. Those who qualify include people affected by shutdowns, closures, layoffs, reduced work hours, or unpaid leave. The household income must be at or below 80% of the Area Median Income for the county in which they live, and must be at least one month past due on rent. Ineligible for help are those who already get subsidized rental assistance. For more information, visit SCThrive.org.
