Resolve to run in Seneca’s 3rd Annual Half-Marathon and 5K

A popular theme this time of year is a renewed interest in getting healthy.  Many will set goals of loosing weight or getting into shape.  Unfortunately, those resolutions are usually forgotten within a month.  Make plans instead to run with a view, explains Seneca Events Coordinator Riley Johnson.  “You know this is the time of year when everybody starts their New Year’s resolutions, so if you want to do a 5K or half-marathon, this is the one to do because it is not a bad route.  There are no easy 13.1 miles, but this is just a great event.” Both the 5K and half-marathon routes are through portions of downtown Seneca.  Johnson encourages residents to resolve to be healthy in 2013. “Go ahead set those resolutions and say I want to do my first 5K, I want to do my first half-marathon.  It is March 16.  It is Seneca’s third annual half-marathon and 5K officially sponsored by Upstate Medical Associates.” Johnson says another motivation is this year’s T-shirt. “One of the best things about it is a fabulous T-shirt because you get an Under Armor T-shirt just for signing up and running in the race.  Of course we will have plenty of stops and water along the route.”  Visit the City’s website at www.seneca.sc.us to register for Seneca’s third annual half-marathon and 5K sponsored by Upstate Medical Associates on March 16.
