Retirements Lead to Administrative Changes At OCSO

Following the recent retirement of Gentry Hawk, Captain Jeremy Chapman was named director of the Oconee County Detention Center. He began his new job two weeks ago, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Another change in personnel has been announced by Sheriff Crenshaw, as well. David Smith has been promoted to Captain over Criminal Investigations and Community Services. His promotion was achieved upon the retirement of long time homicide investigator Greg Reed.
