Road Tax in Walhalla?

Are Walhallans ready to give approval of and pay a fee or tax that would create a fund for transportation and infrastructure projects in the city? A suggestion to implement an annual road tax of $30 to be paid by those with vehicles registered in Walhalla was received by the mayor and council at their recent budget workshop. An estimated $90,000 annually could be generated by the fee, according to city officials, and be used to pay for improvements and items such as roads, drainage, sidewalks, bike paths and green-ways.
