SC Flu Deaths reach 106

The number of deaths attributed to the flu in South Carolina has now risen to 106. According to the latest figures from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) 22 people in the state died from the flu last week, which is six more deaths than last year’s entire flu season. DHEC reports widespread flu activity across the state for the eighth straight week. Flu season typically runs from October until May. DHEC says the flu shot is the best protection against the flu and they are waiving administrative fees for a flu shot at their public health clinics.
