SC Unemployment Applications only taken Online

If you are applying for unemployment benefits in South Carolina, you now have to do so online. Many of the local offices of the South Carolina Department of Employment and Work Force are closed, meaning applying for services must happen on the Internet. The new online push to streamline services is expected to save the state more than $5 million a year. Those people who do not own a computer can use one to apply for benefits at SC Works Offices throughout the state. You can also access computers at local libraries, including the Seneca Library. Customers who need further assistance with unemployment insurance services may speak with a DEW claims representative by calling TelClaim at 1-866-831-1724 from 8:30am to 4pm weekdays.
