SCDOT to Replace Damaged Bridges, Close SC 28 Bridge
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will replace 10 bridges damaged during Hurricanes Debby and Helene, including the US 76 bridge over the Chauga River in Oconee County. Other affected counties include Greenville, Greenwood, Jasper, Spartanburg, and York. Public comments and project details can be found on SCDOT’s website. Additionally, SCDOT will close the SC 28 bridge over the Rocky River in Anderson County for repairs in December. The bridge is scheduled to close on December 4th and is expected to remain closed through the end of the month. A signed detour will be in place, and SC 28 will be restricted to local traffic only during the closure.
