SDOC Board Approves Administrative Hire
At its meeting on Monday, August 15th, the School District of Oconee County Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Robyn Barber as assistant principal at Blue Ridge Elementary School for the 2022-2023 school year.
Mrs. Barber, a southwest Florida native who relocated to Oconee County in 2018, will move from her previous position of special education teacher to join the administrative team at Blue Ridge Elementary. Barber recently graduated from Clemson University with her Master’s in Educational Leadership and also holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. She has been teaching for eight years, four in Florida and four with the SDOC, all in special education. In addition to her time spent in the classroom, Barber coordinated the PBIS program at Blue Ridge and served as a grade-level chair. Barber and her husband, Daniel, have been married for five years and have a one year old daughter, Mya.
Mrs. Barber said, “I am so excited to continue with my Blue Ridge family as I make this move into administration. Hard work truly pays off and I am so blessed to work with a phenomenal staff and learn from the great leaders in our district so we can continue to make a positive impact in our students’ lives.”
