SDOC Board forgives Two Inclement Weather Days

Monday night, the Board of Trustees for the School District of Oconee County (SDOC) voted to forgive two inclement weather days, which were the fourth and fifth days the district missed this year, explains Assistant Superintendent of Operations Steve Hanvey. “We asked the board to forgive days four and five that we had missed because of the bad weather. The first three we have make up days built into our calendar for and state statute says days four, five and six, the local board makes the decision. We asked that they forgive those so we don’t add time at the end of the year or take away time at spring break when people have already made plans and arraignments. The board understood that and they voted 5-0 to approve that recommendation. So, the two additional days, days four and five, that we missed will now be forgiven.” Forgiveness applies to students and employees.
