SDOC Board passes Budget

At their meeting Monday night, the Board of Trustees for the School District of Oconee County (SDOC) passed the 2018-19 budget; however, some of the numbers are still unknown, explains District Finance Director Gloria Moore. “It’s been a little frustrating, we are still waiting on the state’s final numbers. Our board passed the budget that we have on third reading and then tonight the Oconee County Council will meet and hopefully also on third reading. Then after we know from the state what our funding will be we will revise what we have in July and August to get a better number to work with fro the school year next year.” The school budget features total expenditures at $99,566,755 with a plan to use $1.5 million in reserve funds to balance.
