SDOC Board returns One of Two Trustees

The Board of Trustees for the School District of Oconee County (SDOC) returns one of two members after Tuesday’s Midterm Election. In the race for District 1, Jerry Lee received 2,875 votes or 55.30% to Steven Smith’s 2,306 votes or 44.35%. “Well, I certainly appreciate the fine vote. It was a close election with a lot of interest, the turnout was great. Again, I appreciate the fine vote of those that supported me and I will do my best to live up to their expectations.” In the race for District 3 on the Board of Trustees for the SDOC, long time incumbent Andy Inabinet was defeated by challenger Sandra Grant Sloan. According to the unofficial election returns, Sloan garnered 2,047 votes or 52.38% to Inabinet’s 1,841 votes or 47.11%. Thursday morning the Oconee County Elections Commission meets to canvass and certified the results to finalize the election.
