SDOC monitoring Cold Conditions

The School District of Oconee County (SDOC) is closely monitoring the weather, but still plans to go back to school on Thursday after the holiday break, explains Oconee County Schools Superintendent Dr. Michael Thorsland. “Well, obviously it’s cold. Our Transportation Department has been working hard to make sure our buses are ready to go. We do plan to operate on a regular schedule as there is no precipitation in the forecast, just cold temperatures. Our schools will take precautions as far as recess and things like that to make sure our students are safe but we anticipate a smooth opening tomorrow.” Parents are being advised to dress their children in extra layers to protect against the cold.
