SDOC Registration to be held March 4–8

All Oconee County schools will hold registration during the week of March 4-8.  This registration is for new students in grades K-5.  Also at this time, schools will have screenings for 4-year-old kindergarten by appointment only. The 4K program is for children who will be four on or before September 1, 2013.  Four-year-old kindergarten is a wonderful way to get your child familiarized with school and begin the learning process.  It also helps your child with his or her social skills, language development and the separation process.  Please schedule a screening appointment in advance by calling or visiting the school office. If you are unable to schedule a screening appointment on your school’s designated date, you may take your child to another school on another day. Screening will be administered at all elementary sites. Please remember to schedule an appointment. Please bring the following items with you when you register your child: Child’s birth certificate, Child’s Social Security card, Proof of income for both parents.  This includes step-parents if they assume responsibility.  Proof of income can be W2 forms, income tax forms or pay stubs. Proof of residency (driver’s license or a piece of mail with parent’s name and home address), Child’s immunization form (DHEC Form 1148).  Due to the district’s limited number of programs, screening does not insure a child’s placement in a 4K program. However, a child cannot be placed in a 4K program unless he or she is screened.
