SDOC Trustees updated on Building Plan

To accommodate the growing public school system and to minimize costs, the building plan for the School District of Oconee County (SDOC) is changing, explains Superintendent Dr. Michael Thorsland. “The major change involved not building a new Adult Ed facility at the Industrial Park on Highway 11 but rather moving our Adult Ed Program from its current location at the former Code Elementary and moving it to the Hamilton Career Center two years from now. So, in August of 2020, we would put the Adult Ed Program in the current Hamilton Career Center facility along with our Alternative School and a couple of our district wide offices. So, that is something the board is going to consider over the coming weeks.” The Board of Trustees for the SDOC will discuss and then vote on the updated building plan at their next meeting in January of 2018.
