SDPC seeks Public Input on Federal Projects

The School District of Pickens County (SDPC) seeks public input regarding its 2018-2019 federal projects. A public meeting is scheduled at The Curtis Sidden Administrative Building at 1348 Griffin Mill Road in Easley on April 26, 2018, from 4:30-5:30pm. The meeting will focus on the Title II project on Teacher Quality, the Title III project regarding English Speakers of Other Languages and the Carl D. Perkins Vocational-Technical Education Act and the McKinney-Vento legislation regarding homeless children. The meeting will also focus on the Title I project entitled “Improving the Achievement of the Disadvantaged.” The Title I project serves students in schools that have a high percentage of students receiving free or reduced lunch and who may, therefore, be at a disadvantage educationally in the areas of English language arts and mathematics. The school district also invites parents to discuss the effectiveness of parent involvement activities at Title I schools and offer suggestions on the best use of Title I parent involvement funding. If you would like to comment on these projects, send your comments in writing to Mrs. Sharon Huff, 1348 Griffin Mill Road, Easley, SC 29640. You may also send comments by e-mail to Mrs. Huff at [email protected].
