SEAN BRINSON NAMED WALHALLA POLICE CHIEF

January 9, 2019 Dick Mangrum
A young Walhalla police lieutenant is the city’s new police chief. After a closed-door meeting, the city council chose Sean Brinson to fill the job vacated on the resignation last year of Ronald Wilbanks. It appears Brinson was a late entry into a field of what amounted to twenty applicants for the position. Councilman Tjay Bagwell says Paul Harris, who served as interim chief, will remain with the department in an administrative capacity. City administrator Brent Taylor says Brinson’s starting salary will be $55 thousand. The new chief gets an early start on the job. He takes over at 7 this morning.
