Search for New Walhalla Fire Chief Cancelled

Walhalla’s city administrator Brandon Burton said the process to hire a new fire chief has been “cancelled.” Burton said that the “previously obtained applications will be filed away with the cancelled announcement. Any job application received is rated against the requirements stated in the job application. Some are done by department head and some are by committee/panel.”

In the meantime, Lt. Will Bates is serving as the city’s interim chief. The job opening was created recently when Burton was elevated to city administrator.
