SECOND CRACK AT TOP LEVEL STATE JOBS

South Carolinians are being offered a second chance to apply for top-level state jobs that require a degree and a background in selected fields—such as accounting or law. Seats on the state Public Service Commission come with an annual salary of around $130 thousand. Four seats are available, including the #3 seat which serves Oconee County. In the first go around, four people applied for #3 seat including residents of Salem and Clemson. This time the deadline is extended to February 28. The applications of those who apply will be reviewed by a committee chaired by Senator Alexander of Walhalla. Rep. Sandifer of Seneca is the committee vice chairman.
