SENATOR TAKES CAUTIOUS APPROACH TO LEGALIZING MEDICAL MARIJUANA

Marijuana use for approved medical purposes is an issue that won’t go away in South Carolina, in spite of one lawmaker’s views on the controversial subject. State Senator Thomas Alexander has served on a committee studying whether certain patients should be allowed to smoke marijuana, to help relieve their discomfort. But Alexander told Walhalla Rotarians he continues to take an “extremely cautious” approach. Seated in the audience for Alexander’s remarks was Oconee Sheriff Mike Crenshaw.
