Seneca Attempted Murder Suspect Transferred to Custody in Oconee County

34 year-old Kendal Ann Ellis, who was identified as a suspect wanted for attempted murder in a July 24th shooting incident, has been transferred to the Oconee County Detention Center after she was arrested in a Cherokee, North Carolina motel room. Ellis is alleged to have shot and wounded a man on North Stribling Street, then fleeing to North Carolina where Tribal Police in Cherokee arrested her. Police said that the motive for the shooting was an ongoing personal dispute between the suspect and victim, who has since been released from a Greenville hospital following the shooting. Police added that the investigation is still active, and more charges are possible. Right now, she is charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. She also faces a probation violation and a magistrates bench warrant.
