seneca City Administrator Provides an update on the Downtown Seneca area on the coffee time program

(Seneca, SC)—-Last week, Seneca City Administrator Scott Moulder was a guest on the Coffee Time program and provided to our listeners here at 94.1 The Lake this update on the current activity going on in downtown Seneca.

Moulder said that the project to reopen the Vangelli’s restaurant on Ram Cat Alley is underway and at the corner of Townville Street and East North First Street, Moulder said that there is a restaurant that has contract on that building.

Moulder also told our listeners that a contract has been placed on the building that housed the Oconee County Democratic Headquarters by a food type establishment, plus, there has been an offer on the building that housed the Oconee County Republican Headquarters, according to Moulder.

Moulder said that work continues on the old Green’s Drapery building on North Walnut Street as well as the dress shop located across from Keowee Brewing Company. Moulder said that comments have been made about turning the old Hometown Food Store building into an event center.

Moulder said that a building is currently be renovated for a boutique to move their business into the downtown area, plus, Moulder says that he has had conversation with a ladies who are business partners out of Florida who are looking to invest in Seneca.

Conversations also continues with investors out of Greenville who have bought three buildings on East North First Street who have started the demolition and rebuild process. Plus, Moulder said that architects and engineers are inside the old Kimbrell’s building in downtown Seneca working on their demolition plans.
