Seneca Council tables Short-Term Rental Ordinance

A large crowd packed the Council Chambers of Seneca City Hall Tuesday night to voice concerns about a proposed short-term rental amendment to the zoning ordinance. This is an ordinance that would codify short-term rentals as a conditional use in the zoning ordinance. Currently, the zoning ordinance does not address short-term rentals and the city’s position has always been that those things that are not permitted or permitted with conditions in the ordinance are restricted. At their monthly meeting Tuesday night, the Seneca City Council unanimously voted to table second and final reading of the proposed amendment to the ordinance in order to consider residents concerns. The majority of those that raised concerns at the meeting live in the Normandy Shores community.
