Seneca City Council member Lekesha Benson, founder and executive director of the NOLA Network (No Other Life Affected), shared details about the organization’s mission during a recent discussion.
Established in honor of her son Javaris Benson, who died from sudden cardiac arrest in 2017, the nonprofit aims to save and enrich lives by promoting equitable access to heart health education, increasing awareness of sudden cardiac events (especially in youth), providing CPR training, conducting heart screenings, and advocating for better healthcare equity to prevent similar tragedies.
