Seneca Firefighters Contain Major Blaze in Marina Bay Home
Seneca Fire responded at 9:30 a.m. Sunday to a structure fire in the Marina Bay community after multiple 911 calls reported heavy flames. Truck 2 arrived first from a nearby call, finding intense fire at the rear of the large home. Chief 701 took command, with Battalion 7 on operations as Engine 74 arrived. A second alarm quickly brought mutual aid from Clemson University, Corinth Shiloh, Keowee, and Oconee County EMS Squads 1 and 2. Crews stretched multiple lines and a gated 2½-inch line due to the long driveway, launching aggressive interior attacks from front and rear under extreme heat and zero visibility, reinforced by a Shiloh crew. Ladder 17 and Ladder 3 supported rear attic operations. The main fire was knocked down in about 20 minutes, with overhaul lasting over five hours. Both occupants escaped safely, though one family pet was lost. Seneca Fire thanked mutual aid partners and Friendship Fire for station coverage and asked the community to keep the family in their thoughts during recovery.
