Cpt. Haney and Clyde

At 12:51 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026, crews from Seneca Fire and Crossroads Fire responded to a structure fire on Tokeena Road in Seneca. Firefighters arrived to find flames inside a small home. Chief 701 quickly began fighting the fire with a hose line, while other firefighters searched the rear of the home for anyone who might be trapped. During the search, Captain Haney found a large dog inside, safely removed the animal, and brought it outside. Additional crews from Seneca Fire arrived and helped search the rest of the home while extinguishing the remaining flames with support from mutual aid departments. The dog, a Great Dane named Clyde, was checked by firefighters and had no injuries. The homeowner was not at home during the fire. Officials praised the quick work of all firefighters involved. The dog appeared happy and safe after the incident, and Captain Haney and Clyde seemed to have formed quite a friendship.
