Seneca launches Celebrate Christmas with a Hero Video
To help raise awareness and hopefully increase donations, the City of Seneca has launched a Celebrate Christmas with a Hero video on its website. Celebrate Christmas with a Hero is a 501c3 non-profit organization where volunteers give clothes and toys to needy children in Oconee County at Christmas. Sgt. Lisa Williams with the Seneca Police Department is one of the organizers of Celebrate Christmas with a Hero and she tells more about the new video on the city’s website. “Riley Johnson, who is our events coordinator for the city, he and I did a media blitz where we actually did an interview and taped that and uploading that with some photos of some of the parties in the past and some of the children. There will be a video that goes along with this interview where it is in city hall, it shows where you can bring your gift items and how you can get tax receipts and that kind of thing. So, there is more information there with contacts, names, telephone numbers and that type of stuff. You can actually see some of the folks that we have helped on that website.” Learn more about Celebrate Christmas with a Hero by visiting the city’s website at www.seneca.sc.us. The program accepts new toy and clothing donations as well as monetary donations. Items may be dropped off at Seneca City Hall, now through December 12, 2013.
