Seneca Man Arrested by Oconee County Sheriff’s Office on First-Degree Burglary Charge
A 21-year-old Seneca man, Robert Sawyer Redmond of N. Cherry Street, was arrested Wednesday by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office on charges of First-Degree Burglary and Malicious Injury to Property. Redmond was taken into custody during a traffic stop near the intersection of Sitton Mill Road and Friendship Road following an investigation into a reported burglary Saturday night at a home on Haddington Way.
The victim reported that Redmond broke into the residence and her bedroom, causing damage that included a broken picture frame and perfume bottle, with blood smeared on her sheets. Authorities said they determined Redmond entered the home during nighttime hours and sustained hand injuries from the damaged items. After being booked into the Oconee County Detention Center, Redmond was released Thursday on a $27,205 surety bond as the investigation continues, officials said.
