The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man Tuesday on a charge of receiving stolen goods. Booked into the Oconee County Detention Center was 26-year-old Jeffrey Ray Mauldin of Castle Drive. A deputy responded to an address on Cane Creek Landing Road near Seneca on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 17, in regards to a burglary of a vehicle in which items were taken, which included firearms, tools, electronic items and clothes. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division. As the investigation continued and evidence was gathered in the case, it was determined that Mauldin had in his possession items that were taken from the burglary of the vehicle at his Castle Drive residence as well as in the vehicle that he was the driver of that investigators discovered on Bypass 123.
