The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man on a grand larceny charge last Friday. Booked into the Oconee County Detention Center by a deputy from the Warrants Division was 33-year-old Michael Lee Trotter of Twin Springs Drive. He has also been charged with one count each of petit larceny and possession of tools capable of being used in a crime in regards to the same investigation that began with a report the morning of Nov. 28, regarding the larceny of two trailers from an address on Shiloh Road near Seneca. The deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division arrived on scene and spoke with the complainant regarding the theft. The deputy began an investigation at the scene and gathered information regarding the two trailers, one a black 6×12 landscaping utility trailer and the other, a white 6×12 enclosed trailer that also contained equipment used for pressure washing. The value of the white trailer along with the contents inside is around $8,000, according to the arrest warrant. While the investigation was continuing, deputies received information regarding the possible location of the trailers at a vacant house on property at Stephens Farm Road. Upon arriving on the scene, deputies located two subjects, including Trotter, on the property that was clearly marked with “No Trespassing” signs. While on the scene there, deputies also discovered the two trailers that were taken from the Shiloh Road incident location as well as tools lying on the ground nearby. The trailers as well as green Jeep Liberty were towed from the scene and Trotter and the other subject on the scene, 26-year-old April Nicole Roach of Shrine Club Road, were both arrested for trespassing and were taken to the Oconee County Detention Center. As the investigation continued and based upon evidence collected, deputies had probable cause to obtain arrest warrants against Trotter in relation to the Shiloh Road incident. Trotter was released from the Oconee County Detention Center on Monday after posting a combined surety bond of $30,000.
