Seneca Man Charged with Assault & Battery; Another Facing Unusual Offense
Nathan Lee Chambers, a 30-year-old from Seneca, was arrested on June 26 by state police on multiple charges, including unauthorized practice of law, forgery, and misrepresentation of being a lawyer.
Chambers, who allegedly filed legal documents and motions on behalf of a criminal defendant between June 4 and November 14, 2023, without being a member of the South Carolina Bar, was booked into the Greenville Detention Center, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. Now, he is in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center as of yesterday (Tuesday, July 9) for two counts of practicing law without a license. He remains in custody pending bond.
In an unrelated case, on Tuesday, Seneca Police arrested 51-year-old Courtney Ray Mitchell and charged him with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He also remains in custody pending bond.
