Seneca Man Charged with Weapons Offense and Attempted Murder

A St. Patrick’s Day incident led to a Seneca man’s arrest on his 32nd birthday over the weekend. Saturday, Seneca Police arrested Marcus O’Neal Craig and charged him with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Police alleged that Craig shot at a man during an altercation at a South Walnut Street convenience store on the afternoon of March 17th. Police said that during their investigation they found a spent .22 shell casing on the ground outside the store. Seneca Police met with Anderson County Deputies on Saturday at the post office in Townville where custody of Craig was transferred. He was then taken to be processed at the Oconee County Detention Center. Craig was released from jail on a combined bond in the amount of $55,000, officials said.
