Seneca Man Dies In Vehicle Accident Late Sunday Morning On West-Oak Highway

(Seneca, SC)———————The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal one vehicle accident that occurred late yesterday morning on West-Oak Highway east of Seneca. 

According to Lance Corporal David Jones from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 11am on Highway 24 near Wade Hampton Lane. According to Lance Corporal Jones, the operator of a 2004 Dodge Ram Truck, who was driving unrestrained, went off the right side of the road while traveling west on Highway 24, overcorrected, and then went off the roadway left and struck a ditch. 

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis identified the deceased as 70 year old Johnny C. Patterson of Seneca. Coroner Addis says that Patterson died at 12:48pm in the emergency room at Prisma Health-Oconee Memorial Hospital. An autopsy will be performed to assist with the investigation, according to Coroner Addis.
