Dakota Lee David Toney, 23, of Seneca, remains in the Oconee County Detention Center on a $105,500 surety bond following his arrest Thursday morning by Sheriff’s Deputies on charges including first-degree burglary, two counts of first-degree assault and battery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and trespassing.

Deputies responded to a burglary in progress on S. Holland Street, where Toney allegedly broke into a home armed with a machete, threatened two adults, and swung the weapon at a male victim before leaving the scene. He was located nearby and arrested after evidence confirmed the allegations. Investigations are ongoing.
