Seneca Man Sentenced To Twelve Years In Prison For Distribution And Trafficking In Methamphetamine

(Seneca, SC)—————The 10th Circuit Solicitor’s Office has announced that a Seneca man has pled guilty in court to Distribution and Trafficking in Methamphetamine charges. 55 year old John Floyd Richardson has been sentenced to 12 years in prison without the possibility of parole. Each charge will run concurrently, according to 10th Circuit Deputy Solicitor Lindsey Simmons. 

Simmons says that Richardson was arrested as part of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office drug sweep entitled “Operation Avalanche.” The operation targeted a group of 10 subjects who were responsible for facilitating drug distribution and the sale of illegal firearms. 

The Sheriff’s Office started “Operation Avalanche” with the execution of four search warrants back on February 8th of 2018. Richardson was among the subjects arrested as part of the execution of a search warrant at his residence near Seneca.
