Seneca Museums receive Louise Matheson Bell Collection

The Seneca City Museums announce that they have received a new collection featuring over 5,000 pieces, tells Bertha Lee Strickland Cultural Museum Manager Shelby Henderson. “We have acquired a brand new collection. This collection is well over 5,000 pieces. It is the Louise Matheson Bell Collection and we are so excited to say that we own that collection now. It is an array of manuscripts, hand written letters, photos, negatives and some artifacts that Mrs. Louise Bell had collected over her lifetime and her husband Bruce as well. They had Bell Photography, so we acquired the negatives and the photos. This collection is going to take anywhere from 2-3 years to totally sort out, inventory and start accessioning. We are working diligently on it now and we are going to be showing some of the collection at the Lunney House Museum.” As soon as the collection is ready for public exhibit the Seneca City Museums will announce dates and times.
